ALR 62 operates under the umbrella of American Legion Post 62 which holds a tax exempt status as a 501(c)(19). We regularly support the Veteran and Military communities by raising money with charitable events.
In some instances we receive products or services donated to us to help us in the fund raising events.

There's a particular kind of commitment it takes to load up a bike on a Saturday and spend the day doing something for someone else. That's the engine behind American Legion Riders Post 62 in Peoria, attached to John J. Morris Post 62.
Post 62 ALR isn't a motorcycle club in the traditional sense. It's a riding group built around service to the veteran and military community, made up of members of the American Legion, the Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion who happen to also ride.
Over the years, we have raised donations for children's hospitals, veteran's homes, and scholarship funds, delivered toys and gift cards to families in need, and hosted its annual memorial ride each January. None of that happens without loaded-down bikes on delivery runs, which is why members doing these routes often lean on hard mount saddlebags for motorcycle setups that hold steady through repeated stops, while riders on Sportsters tend to reach for leather saddle bags for Sportster motorcycle builds that carry a real haul without overloading the frame.

Meetings happen the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM, and guests are always welcome. It's a group of riders who decided a bike and a free Saturday were reason enough to go do some good.
